On our 6th semester, we were required to do a short video project for Multimedia English course. The lecturer was Ms. Mahani. Since there were sixty of us in the class, the group members should consist of six students per group. Our group, Ketam Biru Production decided to do a video entitled "Family Portrait". Both the poster and video were then presented in class.
"Family Portrait" was about a small family of six; an old mother with four children and also a daughter in-law. The casts were as follow:
Mother: Nur Azimah
Along: Muhammad Hafizi
Kaklong: Nur Alia Syafiqah
Kakngah: Nur Alia Majdina
Kaklang: Nur Fatin Nadia
Achik: Nur Farahin Ayub
I played the role of daughter in-law, Kaklong. Frankly speaking, it was not hard at all to act, especially with them because I have known them since my foundation year. Plus, we did not need too much scripts as we mainly did the casting spontaneously. It only took us about a day to complete the shooting. After the video has been edited, the final video took about 9:07 minutes.
I truly enjoyed the shooting. This is because, as Bachelor of English with Communication students, this was not the first time we had to come out with a video. There were too many videos and we even came out with short films before.
My groupmates were too awesome. That was why we managed to complete this task in a day. The venues involved were Bangunan Akademik, UniSZA, library and also Azimah's rent house. You guys may watch "Family Portrait" by clicking this link:
There were tons of humorous elements in this video, but at the same time, we want to portray you the family bonding, especially between a mother and the children. On top of that, we should also learn to accept the flaws as no one is perfect. Just as the simple quote we chose,
"We might be silly, but no family is perfect. We argue. We fight. But at the end, family is family. The love will always be there"
Meanwhile, for the course of Multimedia English, personally, I think that this subjects helps me a lot in enhancing my confidence level. For instance, this video project itself. It helps us to unleash our talent especially in acting. On top of that, this course also helps us to know more about the technology used in today's world. Since we live in a technology-oriented world, it is necessary for us to know about the applications and software. Thanks to FALCOM for offering this course to their students, and thanks to Ms. Mahani too for teaching us this Multimedia English course.
